Britain Sees Huge Heating Bill
The cold front was a terrible time for many people in the UK this month and last and caused problems for ill people and elderly as well as people that just hate the cold weather! We certainly could have handled this a lot better than we did but as a country we managed to battle through it. We have spend a stupid amount of money on this and as a country have spent over £1.2 billion over just a few weeks and that has turned out to be a lot more than the average winter.
In The Office
I have to say that the timing wasn’t brilliant as many offices had not had people in them for around about 10 days which means they were going to take a while to get that heat back into them again. The offices were left cold for a bit of time which is why the heating was turned up to the max. So many shops did also have their heating turned up because of the weather, this was partly done to keep customers happy. On top of this many stores were getting in things like convector heater and a fan heater to keep the staff warm.
At Home
So many people were already freezing and once the cold front came in they has just reached the end of it and had enough so they decided to just turn up the heating. Many children and parents were still at home because of the snow and people are just not prepared to be cold when they are in their homes all day long.
Problems
There do not seem to be massive problems for the government as they are getting the money from the taxpayers however it is a bit tricky to keep buying in more gas and many people are going to find that their heating bills this month are going to be very high indeed. Of course you could just get portable heaters for occasions such as this.
Had Any Delays From The Snow?
A lot of the time it can be very hard to get into work because of the snow or something like that but the real question to ask is, do people just make excuses on why they cannot get in or are they really stuck in the snow?
There are so many people out there that do not have a nice big car or perhaps they rely too much on the public transport to get into work, if they cannot get in and live a fair way from work you have to understand this. so if someone like this is calling you up I wouldn’t bother shouting at them because the chances are, they cannot do anything about the weather.
How about the people with the bigger cars? There are simply no excuses at all for getting into work if you have a 4 by 4 unless of course the snow is very high, what is the likelihood of that. If you do live about an hours walk away from the work why not take the time to have a walk in? I have had to do this a few times and unless you cannot walk or it hurts to walk there is no reason why you cant do it.
Of course you could always go after something like large van leasing or you could find yourself in need of pickup leasing when your car gets stuck in the snow!
So when it snows next make sure you have a long think about if you can get into work or not. Not being able to get into work means you are costing the company money and potentially a lot of business so take this into consideration.
If you cannot manage to get in alone, why not look at minibus leasing.
More Problems For Motorists From The Melting Snow
The snow has and still is terrorising the country making it almost impossible for many people to make it into work. There have been hundreds of school closures across the country as teachers cannot make it in, accidents have occured both on the road and off too. On top of all of this has been the big winter freeze that must have devastated a lot of the older generations living in the country.
The snow is soon set to melt for the last time and with this comes further problems. One of the key problems comes when it melts as it leaves the roads and pavements in a huge state. There have been so many dirty cars driving over the place that once the snow turns to slush it just makes the roads terrible.
Potholes are going to be such a problem as you will see the bigger ones growing even bigger and new cracks forming in the road in the next few weeks. This is because once the ice melts the water will go underneath the tarmac through the existing cracks. This seems to work fine until the evening comes and it all freezes up. Once the water has frozen it will expand and because underground there is nowhere for it to go, it expands into the tarmac and forces cracks. The traffic then drives over this and forces the tarmac to collapse on itself making the pothole larger and larger.
So what’s the best advice for the snow? One of the best things to do is travel in something like a 4 by 4 to make sure you are safe. Failing this you could transit van lease or of course large van lease as this will allow you to travel a bit easier.
If you need to get into work as a group why not try minibus lease.
just be careful in the snow this is the best advice.
Environmentally Friendly Patio Heaters Released
Despite the nights getting darker and the weather getting colder, we still want to try and enjoy as much of the outside as possible. Luckily, there has been a brand new range of electric patio heatershave been released that will help you do this.
Chillchaser, a UK based company that was featured on Dragons Den, recently released a new range of patio heaters. The 3 are called Zeus, Neptune and Poseidon, each one coming at different price ranges and with different features.
What makes these patio heaters so much better than others is their new style and great range of features. These new heaters look nothing like any other conventional patio heaters. The design of these new patio heaters is so different because they don’t use the conventional gas heating system that regular heaters use. Each of the heaters use a new carbon fibre heating system which emits more focused heat and emits absolutely no CO2 gasses. Each of the heating tubes are replaceable and offer up to 8,000 hours of heat, pretty impressive.
Other great features that are included in Chillchasers’ patio heaters include an infrared sensor which detects movement and turns the heater on or off. They also come with a safety tip over feature which turns the heater off automatically if it’s knocked over.
The first of the three and the cheapest is the Neptune. Alongside the features named above, the Neptune heater also comes with a dome light fitted to the top which offers 360 degree lighting. This means that you can keep out of the dark while staying warm. At £299, it’s not a bad price for the huge range of features available.
The middle of the range heater is the Zeus. The Zeus patio heater is very similar to the Neptune because it also has a light fitted to the top of the unit. The only difference between the Zues and the Netune is that the Zeus light doesn’t offer 360 degree lighting. Costing £449, I’d rather settle for the Neptune.
The most expensive of the 3 heaters is the Poseidon which isn’t actually waterproof, despite it’s water based name. What makes the Poseidon the most expensive and the coolest is that it has a media player at the top of the unit with a 7 inch screen and built in speakers. With a price tag of £849, you’re paying alot for the entertainment value.
If only they released an indoor version which would replace standard portable heaters or fan heatersas they are pretty clunky.
3 Factors To Think About With Solar Power Homes
Have you ever thought about using solar power for your home, but you were not quite sure if it was a good idea or not? Well, the simple way to determine if using solar power at home is right for you is by doing your due diligence first. There is no doubt that solar power is helping people save money each month, and it can help you too, but there are three important factors that you should think about first.
Below are the 3 main factors that you should think about before you decide to use solar panels for your home:
Factor 1: There is no doubt that solar power is powerful enough for any home, but before you install solar panels, you need to consider the weather you live in. In other words, is it sunny for most of the year? Do you deal with a lot of rain or clouds where you live? Is your yard filled with a lot of trees?
These are all important questions to answer because solar power for homes means that you need to have a lot of sun in order to have them work efficiently for you. Trees, rain, and clouds will prevent them from working like they should; it will still work to give your home power, but not as well as it could and it could end up costing you a lot of money. Any home that is very sunny areas will get the most benefits from solar power. For example, if you live in the desert, then you will get the most benefits from this.
Factor 2: Finding an area to set up your solar panels is also a very critical step in the process of setting up your solar power home. If you want to gain the most benefit then you need to find the spot on your property that gets the most amount of sunlight throughout the entire day. If you are going to do this, then do it right and gain the most benefit by placing it in the sunniest spot.
Factor 3: You have to make sure you hook up the solar panels correctly to the electricity grids. If you don’t, then you will not get any of the benefits from the solar power for homes. You have to take the time to research and learn where to properly install the solar panels so that you get the most solar power possible. If you don’t know how to do it yourself, or you don’t want to learn, then you can always find someone to do it for you.
These are the three factors that you should know about before you decide to use solar power for your home. Now that you know about these factors, you can make an informed decision about whether solar power is the right way for you to go.
